What this is

Course Alert is an unofficial student project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Moraine Valley Community College. Course data is obtained from publicly available sources and may be incomplete or outdated.

What we collect

• Email address — your @morainevalley.edu email, used to sign you in and send seat-availability alerts.
• Alert preferences — which course sections you've chosen to watch (up to 5).

We do not collect passwords (there are none — sign-in is email-link only), browsing history, analytics, or any data beyond what's listed above.

How we use it

• Your email is used solely to send sign-in links and seat-availability alerts.
• We do not sell, share, or disclose your information to third parties.
• Emails are sent via Resend (opens in new tab), a transactional email service.

Data storage

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database on a secure server. Email addresses are stored as-is (not hashed) because we need them to send you alerts and sign-in links.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time. This cannot be undone.

Course data accuracy

Course and seat information may not always be up to date. Always check the official Moraine Valley registration system before making enrollment decisions.

This service is provided as-is. We do our best to send timely alerts, but we cannot guarantee delivery, accuracy, or uptime. Do not rely solely on this tool for enrollment decisions.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
